Are you looking for a summer experience unlike any other? Summers At Southern is a series of week-long themed camps designed specifically with boys in mind. Our camp is 90% outdoors, with activities ranging from white-water rafting, catfishing, aviation, firearm safety education, kayaking, paintball, and much more!
Summers At Southern camps are held and hosted by Southern Preparatory Academy in Camp Hill, Alabama. The campgrounds are situated on 320-acres of land equipped with two fishing ponds, an indoor swimming pool, dining hall, air-conditioned dorms, an indoor rifle range, an outdoor rifle range, football field, and 2 gymnasiums.
With a 12:1 camper to counselor ratio, our goal is make sure your son has the individualized attention he needs in order to make the most of his camp experience. Our qualified counselors have one goal in mind: to challenge your son, and make sure he has the best summer ever.
Each camp allows for activities to be customized to campers’ age and experience level, ensuring everyone gets the most out of their camp experience. In addition, campers will be placed in groups based on their age: rising 6th-7th graders, rising 8th-9th graders, and rising 10th-12th graders.

This camp offers an array of aquatic adventures such as swimming, kayaking, and white water rafting. Campers not only develop strong swimming and water safety skills, but also gain a profound appreciation for aquatic ecosystems. Beyond the water, campers learn essential life skills like teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving, as they collaborate with their peers to navigate challenges and embark on aquatic expeditions.
This camp offers your son the chance to get active, with activities ranging from ultimate frisbee and flag football to catfishing and archery. In an era characterized by sedentary lifestyles, sports camps also contribute significantly to promoting physical fitness and a passion for an active and healthy way of life. Thus, these camps equip young individuals with a well-rounded skill set.
This camp will feature hiking, zip-lining, and swimming, among many other activities. Outdoor adventures are vital for youth as they offer a unique blend of excitement and education.
